There are two main parts of natural teeth, the dental crowns and the roots. The crown is the outermost part, which you can see. The root is the part deeper inside that extends to the jawbone. Dental veneers and implants are by far one of the most popular forms of dental technologies people choose when dealing with teeth that are broken or missing.

Research and Markets, one of the world’s leading organizations in market research, announced the addition of a new offering entitled, “Dental Implants and Prosthetics Global Market – Forecast To 2021.” One of the main findings is that the global dental implant and prosthetics market is expected to grow at a high compound annual growth rate (CAGR) until at least 2021. The global market was valued at just under $12 million in 2014, according to a pres release from PRnewswire.com.

Many people want to know, ‘are dental implants safe?’ The answer is yes. Basically, they are metal screws mounted into a person’s jawbone in order for the prosthetic, or implant, to be attached. Over the course of the last few year dental technologies have made these types of procedures even more easier, efficient, and affordable. Scientific literature has reported that the success rate of dental implants as 98%.

The field of cosmetic dentistry in general has become quite popular over the last decade or so. North America has the second largest market for implant dental technologies, outpaced only by Europe. The use of veneers alone has increased by over 250% in the past five years.

“The rapid advancement in the field of dentistry such as CAD/CAM technology, 3D imaging, laser technology, sedation dentistry, mini dental implants, nanotechnology and drug-eluting dental implants is improving day-by-day which has been accepted as the future of dental implant and prosthetic market,” Research and Markets wrote in their report.

It’s obvious that humans will always be concerned with their physical appearance and a great smile is something virtually all Americans (99.7%) believe is an important social asset, according to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Clearly, as the services continue to improve and become more affordable, the demand will only rise with it.
